There will be an “IP conflict” if the mesh network’s LAN IP address of the mesh system is the same as the modem’s. Between two terminals—which could be PCs, mobile devices, or other network equipment—an IP dispute occurs. When this occurs, the two devices will frequently disconnect from the Internet or may even be unable to access the Internet.
This can severely hamper your web experience and you may lose out on potential productivity.
You can determine the connection type from the Mesh app. The most common option is DHCP. Moreover, the Meshforce mesh system will automatically receive an IP address from our ISP when using the DHCP type. If the mesh system is functioning well, it is typically not essential to modify the mesh system’s LAN IP address.
How to change the IP?
If the network has numerous LAN zones, sophisticated users may need to modify the mesh system’s LAN IP address. Here are some steps you can follow:
- Select “Settings” from the My Mesh app’s menu.
- Head to the “DHCP Server” option.
- Select a LAN IP zone where none of your other devices are in conflict.
For instance, you shouldn’t utilize 192.168.10.x for the mesh system if you have another access point on the network with the LAN IP 192.168.10.x. This is for more complex network deployments, thus before changing this parameter, we advise speaking with your network administrator. Also see other websites.
All the devices that join mesh WiFi will instantly receive an IP after you choose a LAN IP for the system. For instance, if the mesh system’s LAN IP is 192.168.10.1, a smartphone connecting to WiFi will be given the address 192.168.10.2, or 10.3, 10, and so on.
You can only change the LAN IP address; individual devices cannot. Their IP addresses are automatically given.
